“We have decided to cancel the event … due to both the poor response of public ticket sales and also due to specific last-minute demands which we find wholly unreasonable.”

Elizabeth Hurley is set to finally marry her boyfriend Arun Nayar in February, reports Sydney’s The Star Observer. The couple is planning a rehearsal event at the venue for next month (09NOV06), according to an article in Sydney newspaper The Star Observer.

The paper claims the nuptials will involve camels and elephants, lavish feasts and “an exchange of vows at a specially constructed mandap.

A senior manager at the hotel claims Hurley’s future mother-in-law, textiles millionaire GUNAR NAYAR, stayed in the presidential suite at the Devi Gahr to make preparations.

He says, “Everything has been shrouded in secrecy but the staff have all been briefed and we are having a series of meetings next week.

“Arun Nayar proposed to Liz at the poolside at Devi Garh on 4 November last year (05) and since then they have been intent on a wedding here.”
