She is the first Asian Miss Universe since 2000, when Lara Dutta, Miss India, clinched the crown. She is only the second Japanese woman to be crowned; Miss Universe 1959, Akiko Kojima, was the first. This was the longest gap for a country winning at Miss Universe. Asian Miss Universes are rare and there have only been eight in all in the 56 years of the pageant. RIYO MORI, a 174cm beauty is the new MISS UNIVERSE 2007..One thing I noticed is that Miss India did not make it to the Top 5 winners…And Korea and Japan was. Incredible. Its the first for the MISS UNIVERSE 2007 pageant I guess for 2 Asian countries to be in the TOP 5. Some sites are saying RIYO MORI is 19 and some say 20. Not sure which is correct. America’s In Touch magazine reported Lohan checked into the Promises Treatment Centre in Malibu today.
