Met Ong Ai Leng in Singapore

Its time to take a short trip to get away from the stress. I took a short trip down to good old Singapore on last Friday via a 1130pm Aeroline bus. There were 4 of us including my wife and her 2 other friends (leong, munyee). We reached Singapore HarbourFront about 4am and I was a half awake zombie. Then later we headed on to see another friend and it turn to be the place owned by Ong Ai Leng, a Malaysian who is currently making a name for herself in Singapore. She’s a model turned actress who has acted in numerous commercials and TV series for Mediacorp Singapore. Heck, I even helped her edit her bio as she was sending it off to some movie producer for her next movie role…Do I hear Hollywood?
The bunch of us visited famous landmarks like Labrador Park, Samy’s Curry Restaurant, No Signboard Restaurant, Hard Rock Cafe Singapore, Ministry of Sound, Clarke Quay, Orchard Road, Bugis Junction, Vivocity Shopping Mall and Sim Lim Square where I bought another WiiRemote and Nunchuck set for my new Nintendo Wii.
The fun ended when we caught a bus back on Sunday and reached KL about 1130pm. All in all, it was the best “short and last minute” trip I’ve ever made in my entire life. Thanks to Aileng, we had plenty of good fun and hopefully, I can drive down my new SUV on my next Singapore trip.
Ong Ai Leng’s BIO :
Ong Ai Leng is the next big thing to watch out for. Though new to the scene, Ai Leng has already starred in numerous drama serials, not to mention the Wong Kar Wai award-winning feature film 2046 as one of Tony Leung’s girlfriends.
A business student who majored in commerce, Ai Leng decided that modelling was just the thing for her in 2000. It was a wise decision, as she soon found herself a popular choice with big clients like Nivea, Marie France and L’Oreal Hair Colour, just to name a few.
It was only natural for Ai Leng to enter the televsion arena next. Her acting debut was in the highly-rated drama Homecoming in Malaysia. Though it was just her virgin attempt, Ai Leng made sure her efforts shone through. It wasn’t long after when she was specially invited to join Channel U in 2004. With nary an ounce of arrogance in her, Ai Leng looks set to go far.
Notes and Tips:
1. WiiRemote and Nunchuck bought for SGD91 at Sim Lim Square
2. Nike shoes in Vivocity are cheaper than those in KL
3. The cream puffs sold at the lower ground floor of Bugis Junction Mall are delicious
4. Stayed in the Family Room at Hotel Fragrance, Selegie. Good choice for a tourist hotel. Very near Orchard Road, Bugis Mall and Sim Lim Square. There was a big Kopitiam near the hotel. The room was a tad small, akin to the one I stayed at when I was in Amsterdam with my wife back in Easter 2006.
